About
We got tired of watching good campaigns lose to a licence fee
CommunityFeedback is a small, independent product built for the people running the outreach — not for the people running the procurement.
This started with a familiar meeting. A coalition had six weeks, a clear question for its community, and a plan that included a map — because the question was fundamentally about places. Halfway through the budget conversation the map came out of the plan. Not because it was the wrong idea, but because the platform that did maps wanted an annual licence, an implementation fee and a per-project charge, and the answer to “how much?” was a calendar invite.
So they ran a survey in a generic form tool, lost the one piece of data that would have been most persuasive, and wrote a report with “residents raised concerns about several locations” in it.
That happens constantly, and it is not a technology problem. Pin-drop maps are not hard to build. Live results dashboards are not hard to build. The enterprise engagement suites are expensive because they carry an enterprise govtech sales machine — territory managers, procurement specialists, six-month rollouts, discount ladders — not because the software underneath is exotic.
We built the version without the sales machine. Same core loop: create a campaign, add a survey and a map, publish, share, collect, watch the results land. Priced so a coalition can put it on a card, and printed on the website so nobody has to guess whether they can afford to ask.
What we hold to
Four commitments, and what they cost us
The price goes on the page
Quote-gated pricing is a mechanism for charging people what the seller thinks they can pay. We publish four numbers and charge everyone the same. If we ever raise them, it will be on this website before it is in your inbox.
Everyone can answer, or it does not ship
A map you can only use with a mouse produces a consultation that quietly excludes people. Every map we render carries a labelled address field, on every plan, and it cannot be switched off. We would rather lose a feature request than ship engagement that only some of your community can join.
Charge for scale, never for asking
Per-project pricing punishes exactly the behaviour that makes consultation work: asking often, in small pieces, close to the decision. So every paid plan has unlimited campaigns, and we only charge more when you are collecting more.
The evidence belongs to you
Export everything, on any plan, including the free one — CSV for answers, GeoJSON for pins. We do not sell data, we do not train anything on your respondents, and we do not hold an export back to win a renewal conversation.
How we are built, and why it matters to you
We are independent and small. No venture capital, no board pushing for an enterprise motion, no quarter-end pressure that turns into a discount ladder. The whole business runs on subscriptions from people who decided, on their own, that this was worth 39 or 99 dollars a month.
That structure is not a virtue signal, it is the reason the pricing can stay printed. A company with a sales team has to justify the sales team, and the way that happens is upmarket drift: bigger contracts, longer cycles, features that exist to win RFPs rather than to help someone run a consultation. We have nothing to drift toward.
It also means we optimise for you renewing month after month rather than for one large signature. If the product stops earning its keep, you leave in two clicks — which is a much more honest form of accountability than an annual contract.
The trade-offs, stated plainly
- We are new. We would rather say that than fill this page with invented case studies. What we can show you is a live campaign you can open and use right now.
- We say no to enterprise features. No SSO, no data-residency controls, no audit logs, no participatory budgeting simulator. If your checklist requires them, an enterprise suite is genuinely the right purchase.
- Support is email. Not a chatbot, not a ticket queue with an SLA we would have to staff up to meet — a person, usually within a working day.
- We are opinionated about accessibility. The map address fallback is not configurable. Some people would like it to be. It will not be.
